Summer School

27th June - 13th August 2005
08.30am - 13.30pm -
(Suitable for ages 6-11)

Every Summer, from the 1st to the 31st of July, we organize our action - packed Summer School for students.

This event is hugely popular, with a carefully coordinated and structured educational programme incorporating activities, excursions and thematically based learning sessions for all students.

Designed around the English Primary School curriculum, with a heavy emphasis on creative play and interaction, the Summer School provides the students with plenty of opportunity to learn through action, involvement and fun.

Young students will be immersed in non-stop activity from the moment they arrive at the English Learning Centre in the morning (08.30am) until it finishes for the day (13.30pm). Students will certainly not have time to be bored!

Creativity and imaginative learning is the focus for Summer School. Through a series of supervised events, all organised by the Lower School Coordinators and our suitably trained teaching staff, numerous arts and crafts based activities are offered. This includes art, painting, model-making, cookery, photography, computer based study. Students also have access to our well-stocked library and audio-visual suite, offering them plenty of 'quiet' time. The DVD's, videos, books, magazines etc, provide plenty of stimulation for the students, under the careful guidance of the teaching staff.

Interspersed with trips to local (and not so local!) places of interest, Summer School offers the students every opportunity to explore their understanding of the English language, and to apply it in a meaningful and natural context, widening their communication skills considerably.

Each week, the students are taken on 2 mini and one full-day excursion. Excursions include trips to the zoo, the camel park, the sea, the mountains, the aquarium, the airport... here the students are given a fascinating backstage tour to see how everything operates from behind-the-scenes.

Our Summer School is a fantastic opportunity for parents who may be busy working or are finding it difficult to arrange childcare throughout the summer. They can be reassured that their children are being carefully supervised in an exciting and stimulating educational environment, having lots of fun whilst improving their English language skills at the same time.

If required, transport is available to all students attending Summer School. Students will need to bring a packed lunch, and any refreshments.
